Nitrogen tanks must be stored upright and securely fastened to prevent tipping, in a well-ventilated area away from heat sources, flammable materials, and direct sunlight. Storage areas should be clearly labeled, and tanks should be kept away from combustible materials and separated from oxygen cylinders by at least 20 feet or a fire-resistant barrier.
