There are mainly two types of argon regulators: single-stage and two-stage regulators. Single-stage regulators reduce the cylinder pressure to the desired working pressure in one step, while two-stage regulators do this in two steps for more consistent output. Both types can come with either a flowmeter or a pressure gauge, depending on the application.
