A plasma cutter cannot cut non-conductive materials such as wood, plastic, glass, or ceramics because it requires electrical conductivity to create the plasma arc. It is also ineffective on materials that are too thick for the machine’s capacity, or those that dissipate heat too quickly, like certain copper alloys.
