E FeMn is an AWS A5.13 austenitic manganese steel (Hadfield) hardfacing SMAW electrode that deposits a tough, work-hardening austenitic weld metal starting at 20-30 HRC and hardening to 50+ HRC under impact service. Standard choice for repairing and rebuilding Hadfield manganese-steel components such as crusher liners, dredge buckets, railroad frogs, and shovel teeth subject to high-impact wear. Heat input must be controlled (interpass ≤500 deg F) to prevent embrittling carbide precipitation. DC+ or AC in all positions.
