Harris 60/40 Leaded Solid Wire Solder 1/16 X 1# SPOOL - 604031
60/40 tin-lead solid wire solder, with some exceptions, can be used to join copper and most copper alloys, lead, nickel alloys and steel. Tin-lead solders are not recommended for joints subject to high stress or vibration in the cooling industry due to lack of sufficient elongation properties. Similar to 50/50 but flows faster due to its narrow melting range. Lead bearing solders are not to be used in potable water system applications.
Features
- Can be used to solder copper and most copper alloys, lead, nickel alloys, and steel with some exceptions
- Its narrow melting range makes it suitable for dip soldering baths
- Popular choice for soldering electronic or electrical connections
- Heat sources include soldering guns, irons and air-fuel torches
- Not recommended for joints subject to high stress or vibration in the cooling industry due to lack of sufficient elongation properties
- Not for use with plumbing and potable water system applications
- Recommend using Stay-Clean soldering flux, except on electrical or electronic applications
- Meets ASTM B-32 specifications;Alloy Grade Sn 60;J-STD-006 Sn60Pb40Sb0.4
