Harris Stay-Silv 6HP Phos Copper Brazing Alloy 3/32 Dia X 36 X 25# PKG - 6H536R
Stay-Silv 6HP is a medium melting range silver brazing alloy designed for joining copper-to-copper and copper-to-brass. The alloy has a wider melting range suitable for joining loose connections. When heated above its liquidus, however, the alloy is fluid and suitable for connections with close fit-ups. Complies with the EU Reach & RoHS directive.
Features
- Medium-range silver brazing alloy for copper-to-copper applications
- More ductile than Harris 0 or Stay-Silv 2
- Used in rod form for manual braze applications, but can be formed as brazing rings or on spools for semi-automated applications
- Use Stay-Silv white flux to braze brass or copper-to-brass
- Corrosion resistance is generally similar to the copper base metal, but phosphorus containing alloys, including Stay-Silv 6HP, should not be used if the braze is exposed to sulfur or sulfur compounds in service
- Not recommended for brazing steel or other ferrous base metals
- The phosphorus content promotes formation of a low ductility intermetallic with the base metal
- Complies with the EU Reach & RoHS directive
