What gas is used for MIG welding?

Shielding gas depends on base metal: 75% argon / 25% CO₂ (C25) for mild steel, 98% argon / 2% CO₂ or a tri-mix for stainless, and 100% argon for aluminum — CO₂ contamination causes porosity in aluminum welds. Can you MIG weld aluminum?
