Stay-Silv 2HP phos-copper brazing alloy 3/32 x 20 in. x 1 ea. 25 lb. box.
The Harris Stay-Silv 2HP Phos-Copper Brazing Alloy - 3/32 in (2.4 mm) - 25 lb Box - 2H520R is a phosphor-copper brazing alloy (BCuP-2). Phos-copper alloys are self-fluxing on copper and copper alloys — no separate flux is required when brazing copper to copper. However, flux IS required when brazing copper to brass, bronze, or steel. These alloys are widely used in HVAC/R applications for copper tubing joints.
- Compatible families: Stay-Silv
- Available diameters: 3/32"
Brazing alloys are selected by the base-metal pairing and the joint clearance. Silver content and flux requirements drive both cost and strength of the finished joint.
Stay Silv 2HP features a higher phosphorus content which provides a narrower melting range and quicker flow. This alloy is designed for use on applications where close, uniform clearance can be maintained. Complies with the EU Reach & RoHS directive.
- Cost saving, high phosphorus alloy
- Its tighter melting range makes it more fluid
- Medium-range alloy for brazing copper and copper-to-brass
- Brazing range of 1300◦F - 1455◦F (704◦C - 788◦C)
- Fluidity rating 5
- Recommended joint clearance of 0.002 in. - 0.005 in. (0.51 mm - 0.13 mm)
- Corrosion resistance is generally similar to the copper base metal, but phosphorus containing alloys, including Stay-Silv 2HP, should not be used if the braze is exposed to sulfur or sulfur compounds in service
- Flux not required for copper brazing as it is self-fluxing. For brazing brass or copper-to-brass Stay-Silv white flux is suitable for most applications. Harris Eco Smart boric acid free flux, powder or paste, is an excellent choice to promote sound brazed assemblies
- Complies with the EU Reach & RoHS directive
