BLUE MAX® MIG 309LSi designed for joining stainless steel to mild or low alloy steel. The same composition as Blue Max® MIG 309L with higher silicon content to improve the bead appearance and increase welding ease.

Overview

BLUE MAX® 309L 0.035 inch Stainless Steel MIG Welding Wire is a premium austenitic stainless steel filler metal engineered for joining stainless steel to itself or to carbon and low-alloy steels. Designed for high-performance dissimilar metal welding, this wire delivers excellent metallurgical compatibility and can be used in service temperatures up to 700°F (371°C). Its low carbon content (0.03% max) significantly improves resistance to intergranular corrosion, making it ideal for structural, industrial, and fabrication applications requiring long-term durability.

Features
  • Q2 Lot® Certified Quality – Certified Material Test Reports available online showing actual wire chemistry, country of origin, and calculated ferrite number (FN) for each lot
  • Superior Feedability – Proprietary surface lubricant ensures smooth wire feeding and stable arc performance at high wire feed speeds
  • Enhanced Puddle Control – Elevated silicon content improves weld puddle fluidity and toe wetting for clean, consistent bead profiles
  • Controlled Ferrite Content – Optimized ferrite balance delivers excellent crack resistance and maximum corrosion resistance
  • Reduced Post-Weld Cleanup – Smooth weld contour minimizes grinding and finishing time
  • Low Carbon Chemistry – Improved resistance to intergranular corrosion in demanding service environments
