The Lincoln ClassMate® Laser Cobot System (AD2446-29) brings industrial laser welding into the classroom, merging the 2 kW Flex Lase™ 20 laser system with a FANUC® CRX-10iA/L collaborative robot inside a CDRH Class 1 laser enclosure built onto a mobile cart. ClassMate® Laser Cobots combine the power of Flex Lase laser systems and collaborative robotics to offer a Class 1 laser welding experience in the classroom. The cart is designed to move anywhere you need to weld, with a laser-enclosure built on top — the game-changing solution you need to level up your curriculum.
Designed for education and research spaces, the ClassMate Laser Cobot gives students hands-on experience with the automated laser welding processes that are growing rapidly across industry. The Flex Lase™ 20 delivers 2 kW of laser output power for high-precision welding at travel speeds up to four times faster than a typical TIG process, while the FANUC® CRX-10iA/L cobot uses manual-guided teaching and rigorously tested weld presets so students can learn robotic programming with little to no prior experience.
Safety is built into the design. As a Class 1 laser system, the on-cart CDRH enclosure fully contains laser radiation during normal operation, simplifying deployment by reducing or eliminating the need for specialized laser safety controls. Collaborative force sensors built directly into the robot remove the need for traditional fencing without reducing operator safety (compliant to RIA TR R15.606), and the enclosure’s large front opening and sliding top section provide clear access for programming from three sides.
- Classroom-ready laser automation — brings the full capabilities of an industrial laser cobot into education and research spaces
- 2 kW laser power — the Flex Lase™ 20 delivers high-precision welds with a focused heat input and smaller heat-affected zone to reduce distortion and minimize spatter
