About Lincoln Fleetweld 37

E6013 is an AWS A5.1 rutile-coated all-polarity SMAW electrode with 60 ksi minimum tensile, designed for easy-to-strike, smooth-running general fabrication on light-to-medium plate and sheet. The high-titania coating produces a quiet arc, easy slag removal, and excellent appearance, making E6013 the standard learner-friendly electrode and a workhorse for sheet metal, auto body, and general light fabrication. Runs on AC, DC+, or DC- in all positions on small machines.

Questions about this package
Is this the same electrode as the parent Lincoln Fleetweld 37 grade, just in a different package?

Yes. SKU ED033500 is the same AWS A5.1/A5.1M E6013 classification as every other size in the Lincoln Fleetweld 37 family. The only difference is diameter (1/8 in) and package format (6 x 1 lb easy-open cans). Polarity, position, and tensile properties are identical to the parent grade.

How many rods are in this 6 x 1 lb easy-open cans?

Approximately ~5 per 1 lb container (~31 total). Exact count varies with manufacturing tolerance but a 6 x 1 lb easy-open cans of 1/8 in Lincoln Fleetweld 37 typically contains in this range.

What is the shelf life if I do not use them all?

Sealed containers store indefinitely in a dry environment. These are not low-hydrogen electrodes, so atmospheric exposure tolerance is much higher than E7018-class rods - avoid extended damp storage, but routine workshop humidity does not affect performance.

What diameter should I use for common applications?

1/8 in is well-suited for general light to medium plate fabrication, all-position. Heavier base metal and higher deposition typically calls for one diameter up; thinner sheet and root passes go one diameter down. See the parent grade page for full diameter-to-amperage guidance.

Can I mix this size with other diameters on the same job?

Yes, provided your procedure qualification (WPS) covers the diameter range. Many shops use one diameter for root, one for fill, and one for cap. All sizes within Lincoln Fleetweld 37 share identical mechanical properties (AWS A5.1/A5.1M E6013) so weld metal chemistry is consistent across passes.

Do I need to rebake these after the can is opened?

No. Cellulosic and rutile coatings are not low-hydrogen and do not require the rebake discipline of E7018-class electrodes. Keep them dry in normal storage; if the coating becomes visibly damp, redry at 200-275 F before use.

Does this size require a special holder or stinger?

Use an electrode holder rated for the amperage range above (80-130 A). Most general-purpose stinger holders (e.g. 300-500 A class) handle 1/8 in Lincoln Fleetweld 37 without issue. For sustained high-amperage runs on larger diameters, a 500 A or higher holder is recommended.

Is this Buy America compliant?

This specific SKU is not the Buy America variant. Lincoln Fleetweld 37 may be available in a Buy America compliant version - see the parent grade page for all available compliance variants.
