The smooth-groove geometry is matched to solid wire electrodes, maintaining positive traction without over-gripping that can deform solid wire or shave aluminum wire — common failure modes when incorrect roll types are used in MIG/GMAW applications.

Available in seven configurations from .023–.030 in (0.6–0.8 mm) through 1/16 in (1.6 mm), the KP1696 series covers solid wire diameters for thin-gauge sheet metal GMAW through heavy structural plate welding.
