The Lincoln VIKING 2450 ADV LED Light Kit (KP5245-1) mounts to the VIKING 2450 ADV welding helmet and activates automatically when the helmet is in the down position — delivering targeted workspace illumination without a separate light source. Runs on an independent battery so it cannot drain the helmet's ADF electronics.
| SKU | KP5245-1 |
|---|---|
| Compatible helmets | Lincoln VIKING 2450 ADV series only |
| Light type | LED |
| Activation | Automatic on when helmet down, off when raised |
| Power source | Independent battery (not shared with ADF) |
| Installation | Tool-free snap-mount |
| Removal | Removable in seconds |
- Shaded joint areas: Where overhead lighting creates shadows inside the joint, front illumination from the helmet brings the puddle and joint geometry into clear view
- Tight-clearance welding: Inside pipe sections, tanks, or structural assemblies where ambient light is minimal
- Night shift or windowless environments: Where overhead shop lighting is insufficient at joint level
- Precision TIG work: Additional targeted light improves contrast for puddle and tungsten visibility
Automatic Activation: LED activates when the helmet is down and deactivates when raised. No toggle required — it works when welding and conserves battery between welds.
Independent Power Source: Draws from its own battery, not the helmet's ADF circuit. The LED kit cannot drain or interfere with arc-sensing and lens-darkening electronics. Helmet functions identically whether the LED kit is attached or removed.
Tool-Free Mount: Snaps onto the VIKING 2450 ADV shell without tools. Removable in seconds — useful for outdoor work where the LED adds no benefit in bright sunlight.
Which helmets is the KP5245-1 compatible with?
Designed specifically for the Lincoln VIKING 2450 ADV series. Not compatible with the VIKING 1740, 1840, or 3350 series. Confirm your helmet is the "2450 ADV" (advanced) — it is a different shell than the standard 2450.
Does the LED kit affect auto-darkening performance?
No. The kit runs on its own independent battery and does not interfere with the helmet's ADF circuitry. Arc sensors, darkening speed, and shade settings function identically with or without the LED kit.
Is this useful for outdoor welding?
In bright outdoor conditions the benefit is reduced. The LED provides significant improvement in shaded or low-light environments. Remove it for outdoor work in direct sunlight to reduce helmet weight.
How long does the battery last?
The LED only draws power during actual welding (when the helmet is down), limiting consumption to welding time rather than total shift time. Battery longevity is designed to span multiple shifts under normal use patterns.
